Adriana Lima consumes no solid foods and follows weeks of physical training before going down the catwalk, reported The International Business Times (IBT).
Limas diet entails nine days of protein shakes and water only with no solid foods. The protein shakes are made of powdered egg and taken with a gallon of water. Twelve hours until show time, water consumption is completely banned, saying you can lose as much as eight pounds by abstaining from all liquids, she told The Daily Telegraph.
But the Victoria Secret model also stressed that her extreme, no-solid food diet is done only once a year in preparation for the much-anticipated annual lingerie fashion show. She recently made a public service announcement on ET Canada to warn teens from trying her specific diet without the guidance of a professional dietician.
Its not that I do crazy diets throughout the year. I just do it for this particular thing. After this show, I become normal again, reported the IBT.
Limas physical regimen entails working out twice a day for three intense weeks before the runway shows. But training begins many weeks beforehand. Her nutritionist also makes her take vitamins and supplements to sustain her energy levels during the workouts.
I know its very intense butI just have an athletes mind and I appreciate doing this thing, said the 30-year-old mother.
